A place for all occasions
What is a brasserie?
Sheffield's own interpritation: Gillson's
A brasserie is a style of restaurant rooted in the traditions of French dining. Originally created as places to eat, drink and gather throughout the day, brasseries became known for their relaxed atmosphere, classic dishes and sense of familiarity.
Today, the brasserie remains a place for all occasions, whether that's lunch with friends, dinner with family or simply a glass of wine at the end of the day. The menus are broad, the service is attentive and the atmosphere is designed to feel both lively and comfortable.
At Gillson's, we've taken inspiration from these timeless traditions to create a neighbourhood brasserie for Ecclesall Road. A place to enjoy good food, good company and the simple pleasure of dining well.

Brasserie cooking has always been built around the classics - the dishes people know, love and come back to time and time again.
It's food that's generous, familiar and made to be shared, whether that's a steak and frites, fresh fish or a traditional Sunday roast enjoyed around the table.
At Gillson's, our menus take inspiration from this tradition, celebrating timeless dishes prepared simply and served in a relaxed setting.
